Former Ole Miss standout Jaxson Dart has flashed signs of being the New York Giants' quarterback of the future, a welcome sign for a franchise that has seen quite a bit of turnover since. the days of Eli Manning.
Dart has made do without Malik Nabers, who suffered a gruesome season-ending knee injury in Week 4 against the Chargers, also Dart's debut. Dart connected with his WR1 for two receptions and 20 yards before Nabers went down.
With a healthy Nabers, the Giants looked to potentially be a sneaky wild-card contender, riding the momentum provided by a fortified defense, strong offensive line and electric rushing play from rookie Cam Skattebo.
Without Nabers, the Giants will likely look to next year, though a dominant 34-17 win over the Eagles on Thursday Night Football suggests that they're closer than they may think.
A new ESPN midseason mock draft has the Giants drafting what they may feel is the final piece of the puzzle to renewed contention.
Jordan Reid's midsesason NFL mock draft has the Giants selecting standout ASU wide receiver Jordyn Tyson with the projected seventh overall pick, with the intention of placing him along side the flashy and shifty Nabers.
Tyson would fit the Giants' bill exceptionally well. Tyson has an eye-popping statline this season, making 47 catches for 523 yards and seven touchdowns in 2025, pushing the Sun Devils to a No. 21 AP ranking as of last week (though a blowout loss to Utah likely pushes them out of the top 25).
Reid added that two top right tackles, Spencer Fano out of Utah or Francis Mauigoa out of Miami could be in play for the Giants, but Tyson may be too tempting for the Giants to pass up on.
Drafting a player of Tyson's caliber would skyrocket an already exciting young Giants offense to new heights. Tyson brings with him a dual-threat ability: even in the Sun Devils' 42-10 loss in Week 7, where Tyson only amassed 40 receiving yards on eight catches, he found the end zone on a three-yard rush.
Jordyn Tyson continues to prove that he is truly elite.

Further, Dart is still very young, and has a lot of room to grow. The best thing an NFL team like the Giants can do is surround their young QB with more raw talent and another explosive option.
Drafting Tyson would be the next step in their future, and Dart will have plenty of eyes on him keen to see how the rest of the season unfolds.
