ESPN's Adam Schefter Shares Patriots Contract Updates for 2025 Draft Picks

On Friday, ESPN's NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that the New England Patriots have signed eight of the 11 rookies they drafted.

The report states that they have signed third-round receiver Kyle Williams, third-round center Jared Williams, fourth-round DT Joshua Farmer, fifth-round linebacker Bradyn Swinson, sixth-round kicker Andres Borregales, seventh-round OT Marcus Bryant, 7th round long snapper Julian Ashby, and Mr. Irrelevant Kobee Minor.

The Patriots still haven’t signed their first two picks, Will Campbell and TreVeyon Henderson, or safety Craig Woodson, as contract negotiations are ongoing.

Those deals are expected to get done, but it’s still encouraging that the team has already locked in several of their other draft picks. New England continues to retool its roster in hopes of returning to winning form, and many of these rookies could play important roles in that effort.

Kyle Williams was the highest pick to sign his rookie deal so far, and with wide receiver being one of the Patriots’ biggest needs heading into the offseason, he could be a major addition. Williams was a standout at Washington State and has the potential to make an immediate impact.

Two other key signings were Wilson and Ashby. After releasing longtime center David Andrews, the Patriots brought in Garrett Bradbury, but the team lacked depth at the position, something Wilson helps address. He may even be pressed into action as a rookie.

As for Ashby, he’s likely to be the starting long snapper from day one after New England parted ways with veteran Joe Cardona.

The Patriots also secured necessary depth with the additions of Jaheim Farmer, Trajan Jeffcoat-Swinson, Pat Bryant, and Jordan Minor. With upgrades to the front seven a clear priority, bringing in Farmer and Swinson adds even more talent to a unit that already includes several veteran additions. The rookie defenders will have a chance to learn behind Pro Bowl-caliber players.

Bryant fills a significant need on the worst offensive line in football last season. And although Minor was the last pick in the draft, cornerback depth was a pressing issue, meaning he could have a legitimate shot at making the final roster.

Another notable move was at kicker. After moving on from Joey Slye, the only kicker on the roster was John Parker Romo, who didn’t project as a long-term solution. That’s where Miami standout Andres Borregales comes in.

He could prove to be one of the best picks in this class. Since the departure of Stephen Gostkowski, the Patriots have struggled to find a reliable long-term kicker—Borregales may finally be the answer.

With most of the draft class now under contract, the Patriots have taken another step in rebuilding their roster. Rookie minicamp and training camp will be key to seeing how these players adjust, but there’s no doubt the team has already made meaningful improvements.
