The 2026 NFL regular season is right around the corner.

Summer is here, teams will soon be reporting to training camp and, before you know it, Week 1 of the regular season will have arrived.

The Seahawks enter the 2026 regular season as the defending Super Bowl champions. But will the Seahawks repeat or will another team be holding up the Lombardi Trophy next Valentine's Day, 2027?

ESPN's computer model, the Football Power Index, has released its picks for the 10 best teams in the National Football League, as we head into the 2026 regular season.

ESPN's computer model, the Football Power Index, has released its picks for the 10 best teams in the National Football League, as we head into the 2026 regular season:

Rams
Ravens
Bills
Lions
Seahawks
49ers
Packers
Bengals
Chiefs
Eagles

The NFC has six teams in the top 10, while the AFC has just four.

How does the Football Power Index work?

The FPI is a projection-based model.

"The Football Power Index (FPI) is a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team's performance going forward for the rest of the season. FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Projected results are based on 10,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to date, and the remaining schedule. Ratings and projections update daily," ESPN describes.

Week 1 of the 2026 regular season can't get here soon enough. It should be a fun one come this fall.
