Ex-NFL sideline reporter makes prediction about Travis Kelce

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce is expected to retire this offseason, and one former NFL sideline reporter thinks Kelce’s younger brother will do the same.

Former NBC “Sunday Night Football” sideline reporter Michele Tafoya made a surprising prediction about Travis Kelce during an interview with Marc Ryan of CBS Sports Radio. Tafoya said she thinks the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is highly motivated this postseason because he, too, is planning to call it a career.

“I think Travis Kelce is retiring after this season like his brother, so I think there’s just a ton of motivation there for (the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl). … I think they’re highly motivated,” Tafoya said.

Tafoya added that she “can’t really reveal my source” but said she could envision Jason and Travis signing a deal for an alternate game broadcast like Peyton and Eli Manning. You can hear more from Tafoya here.

Travis, who is 34, has given no indication that he is pondering retirement. Jason hasn’t even confirmed that he is retiring, though the way he acted at the end of last week’s playoff loss certainly made it seem like that is his plan.

Tafoya worked as a sideline reporter for NBC for more than a decade. She was with ESPN/ABC for years prior to that. She probably has decent connections, but it would be quite surprising if Kelce walked away at the top of his game while Patrick Mahomes is still in his prime.
