The Cincinnati Bengals are leaving no stone unturned to replace Joe Burrow, and that includes adding a former Packers quarterback to the practice squad.
After Joe Burrow suffered a Grade 3 turf toe injury in Sunday’s Cincinnati victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Bengals’ star quarterback is expected to miss at least three months, which puts the remainder of his 2025 campaign in doubt.
Jake Browning entered the game in Week 2 and is expected to be the Bengals’ starting quarterback moving forward.
However, Tuesday, the Bengals signed former Packers quarterback Sean Clifford to the practice squad.
Clifford, 27, was originally chosen by the Packers in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft and appeared in two games before being released during final roster cuts earlier this summer.
In Cincinnati, Clifford adds some veteran depth in a quarterback room that is looking to replace one of the premier players at the position.
