Summary points:

  • The Eagles and Giants have road tests next week

The Philadelphia Eagles were run over by rookie Cam Skattebo and the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football in East Rutherford, New Jersey by a score of 34-17, dropping the Eagles to 4-2 on the season.

Coach Brian Daboll's Giants moved to 2-4 on the year as fans gushed with excitement over Skattebo and the rest of the team's big win.

One former NFL player who appears to be a fan of both Skattebo and the Giants' other high profile offensive rookie, Jaxson Dart, is former Eagles Super Bowl winning quarterback Nick Foles.

Foles took to X to share his thoughts on the dynamic, exciting rookie duo in comments viewed over 275,000 times as of early Friday morning.

Foles Comments on Latest Giants Win

Foles held his head up high during the Eagles' loss while also commenting on the Giants.

"Not looking good tonight for the Eagles," Foles wrote on X. "They will go back to work and bounce back after this one.

"On the other hand, the Giants have been playing lights out tonight. Jaxson Dart looks great. I am a big fan of Skattebo. They are proving me wrong," Foles said.

Foles won the 2018's Super Bowl MVP award as he engineered an Eagles win over Tom Brady's New England Patriots.

The former MSU Spartan and Arizona Wildcat commented on the Giants' 'swagger' as well.

"They have a swagger about them right now. It looks like we will be recording THE SZN POD in NY Giants jerseys. Never thought I would lose this bet we made on THE SZN POD, but the Giants got the better of me on this bet.

"Now it's time to head to Fanatics and buy some jerseys. This one hurts."

Dart, Skattebo Shine vs. Eagles

The Giants outgained the Eagles by a final tally of 366 to 339 yards on the evening as their rookies shined.

Dart was outpassed by Eagles QB Jalen Hurts but outrushed the Philadelphia superstar with 58 rushing yards and a touchdown to 13 rushing yards and a touchdown for Hurts.

Skattebo stole the show, rushing 19 times for 98 yards and three touchdowns, once again proving the doubters wrong and cementing his status as a starting quality NFL runner.

The Eagles will play the Vikings on the road next week while the Giants will take their exciting young team on the road to play the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High.

The Giants aren't likely to make a playoff run like Denver did in Bo Nix's rookie season, but nothing is off the table if Skattebo and Dart play the way they did on Thursday under the bright lights.
