Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has remained busy this offseason while recovering from elbow surgery that sidelined him last fall after only two appearances.
The 38-year-old two-time Super Bowl champion resumed workouts alongside teammates in May, and somebody enlisted with running his Twitter page embarked on unblocking missions earlier this month.
As Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette tweeted, Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin is satisfied with Roethlisberger's status as of June 23.
"He's comfortable and pleased where he is," Tomlin reportedly said of his signal-caller. "Some people who had the opportunity to work with him are impressed and pleased where he is. The medical experts are comfortable where he is and his readiness for 2020."
Tomlin performed arguably the best job of his coaching career after Roethlisberger went down in September, as Pittsburgh built an 8-5 record before losing the final three games of the campaign.
With rumors circulating that the ongoing coronavirus pandemic could force the NFL to postpone the start of the season until October, Big Ben may have several additional weeks or a full month to get back to 100 percent.
NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala also spoke on Roethlisberger's recovery.
Mike Tomlin talked today about Ben Roethlisberger's health and about training camp at Heinz Field, and yes, @KenCarman, I have read all of those books. pic.twitter.com/QkqIr9AwwL
