Cameron Sample was drafted in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft and has spent his entire career with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he appeared in 61 games with five starts, accumulating 85 tackles and seven sacks.
Sample had originally signed with the 49ers this offseason but was released last week. He’ll have every opportunity to make the roster in Atlanta, though like most free agents who sign this time of year, there’s usually a reason they’re available. It’ll be interesting to see how the Falcons attempt to fill the void left by Jalon Walker, who was set up to play a massive role in Atlanta’s defense entering his second season.
