The fantasy football playoffs are here, which means win-or-go-home, so to speak. Every decision is that much more critical now, as one misstep can result in an owner playing for a consolation prize. The week leading up to the playoffs was chaotic, especially at the quarterback position. There was a QB who had two turnovers on the same play, one who suffered a devastating season-ending injury, and now 44-year-old Philip Rivers is returning!

Finding a signal caller to trust this week is likely challenging for many fantasy owners. Recent performances, unfavorable matchups, and weather conditions are all at the front of mind. After considering all those factors, here’s a look at the start-or-sit list for QBs in Week 15.

Start: Trevor Lawrence Versus The New York Jets

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, perhaps somewhat surprisingly, has been pretty steady lately. After that three-interception performance a few weeks ago, the fifth-year man from Clemson has played mistake-free over the last two contests. Lawrence has also thrown for at least 220 yards and two touchdowns in three straight games. That makes him a solid fantasy option against a New York Jets squad that will be without starting cornerback Azareye’h Thomas.

Sit: Caleb Williams Versus The Cleveland Browns

Caleb Williams will have to deal with some unfavorable conditions this Sunday, including the Windy City weather and the Cleveland Browns’ top-ranked pass defense. The Browns also showed that they can be had against the run, as Tony Pollard exploded for 161 yards on the ground last week. This game has the makings of a contest in which the Chicago Bears have two running backs with nearly 20 carries, as they did a few weeks ago.

Williams has been somewhat ineffective recently, so in a game where the weather will be in single digits with 15 mph winds, the Bears may be more conservative. It will likely be a subpar fantasy performance for number 18.

Start: Jaxson Dart Versus The Washington Commanders

New York Giants rookie QB Jaxson Dart has a very favorable matchup this week. Dart likes to use both his arm and his legs, and the Washington Commanders usually let teams do both. The Commanders are ranked in the bottom five in both passing and rushing yards allowed. Dart should see plenty of opportunities through the air and on the ground, making him a solid fantasy play this week.

Sit: Bo Nix Versus The Green Bay Packers

Bo Nix has fallen off recently, at least in terms of fantasy football. Over his last four outings, Nix has not had a multiple-TD game, and has three INTs during that span. This week, versus a surging Green Bay Packers squad, is unlikely to be a get-right spot for the Denver Broncos’ young QB. The Packers have a top-ten passing defense that mostly plays zone coverage. That does not bode well for Nix, who ranks 28th in complete rate against zone (via Sharp Football Analysis). Fantasy owners are better off finding options elsewhere.

Sit: Jacoby Brissett At The Houston Texans

Continuing to roll with Arizona Cardinals veteran Jacoby Brissett is probably very tempting for fantasy owners. With all of the rollercoaster rides that many QBs have provided this year, Brissett has been a steady force under center. All good things must come to an end, however, and that is likely to be the case against this stout Houston Texans defense.

This Houston defense has been scorching hot lately! The Texans have allowed under 20 points in four straight games and have been a nightmare for opposing QBs. In two games against Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen, the Texans have combined for ten sacks and five interceptions. Brissett should probably not start in fantasy for this week.

Start: Jalen Hurts Versus The Las Vegas Raiders

Yes, despite the abysmal performance last week, Jalen Hurts is worth starting this week in fantasy football. Hurts always has a game or two every year that frustrates fantasy owners, but then bounces back for a 25-30 point performance.

This upcoming matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders should be a good opportunity for Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles to make amends for last week’s stinker. The Raiders have nothing to play for at 2-11, and will also turn to backup QB Kenny Pickett with Geno Smith ruled out. Pickett is not likely to be the one to get the Las Vegas offense going, and the Raiders could have their fair share of three-and-outs.

That would result in the defense being on the field more than desired, allowing the Eagles to wear them down. A tired defense is susceptible to a couple of tush-push TDs, and maybe a few through the air. Fantasy owners should not let last week’s game negate an overall solid year from Hurts.

End Of My Fantasy Football Quarterback Rant

Making these fantasy football QB decisions can be tough in general, but especially now with so much at stake. Sometimes, the decisions are just about trusting your guys. In other cases, elements and opposition have to be weighted more. Hopefully, this information has provided some clarity and will help your squad move on to the next round.
