Working the waiver wire is an absolute must for fantasy football success, and we have done the work so you don't have to stress! Whether it be identifying the diamonds in the rough or pointing out some of the more obvious targets, we have your back all season long!

The injury bug already has made its presence felt in this young NFL season, breakouts are underway, and Week 4 brings several scenarios worth a speculative bid. Let's explore which free-agent moves are worth pursuing on your fantasy football waiver wire. We've uncovered the hidden gems and highlight other must-have free agents for Week 4 and beyond.

References to "conventional/tradition" league sizes point to those with 12 teams, 16-player rosters. Recommendations are based on performance, point-per-reception (PPR) scoring, unless stated otherwise, and availability percentage will vary based on league host. All percentages represent availability, and the FAAB value is the recommended percentage of budget to allocate.

The Top Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 4

All players in this section are must-add free agents, regardless of your league's scoring or size.

RB Trey Benson, Arizona Cardinals | 20% | FAAB: 78-80%

James Conner was carted off the field with a severe lower-leg injury. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says the 30-year-old back will need surgery and is out indefinitely. Benson is the next man up and should be asked to shoulder the workload for the duration of Conner's absence. The 2024 third-round pick wasn't particularly useful as a rookie but has shown a bit more spark this season, going for 8.5, 8.4, and 8.1 PPR points, respectively, as a reserve in the first three games. While almost universally owned entering the week, Benson is a must-add in all leagues, where available, which is likely only 10-teamers or smaller now.

RBs Chris Rodriguez Jr. (75% | FAAB: 18-20%) and Jeremy McNichols (70% | FAAB: 4-5%), Washington Commanders

Washington running backs rushed 23 times and were targeted once in Week 3, giving us a demonstration of the potential utilization split. Rodriguez led the way in rushing attempts with 11, though he generated only 39 yards. McNichols was the most productive back (13.8 PPR) but saw the least work (4-78-1 rushing) and needed a 60-yard touchdown run to matter. Starting back Jacory Croskey-Merritt rushed eight times for 26 yards and a short TD, catching the lone look of this bunch (5 yards). All told, this backfield could create a frustrating split from week to week, and none of that even touches on both QBs having wheels on them. Look for Rodriguez as the safest play behind JCM.

WR Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders | 72% | FAAB: 8-10%

In Week 1, Tucker caught a touchdown on one of his two receptions, which didn't move his fantasy needle to more than being a watch-list candidate. He followed it up with three catches for only 12 yards but drew eight targets in what was Geno Smith's worst showing in years. The Raiders were blown out on Sunday but it didn't stop both Smith and Tucker from statistically hauling off. The receiver caught eight of nine looks for 145 yards and all three of Smith's TDs. The slot receiver's performance is almost guaranteed to be a career game when all is said and done. Someone undoubtedly will invest in Tucker this week, and rightfully so. Should you be in that camp, understand the volatility in his weekly production. With a favorable matchup against the Chicago Bears next Sunday and byes coming in Week 5, Tucker has a chance to move into regular starting territory.

WR Sterling Shepard, Tampa Bay Buccaneers | 97% | FAAB: 8-10%

Tampa's receiving room has been ravaged by injuries in 2025. WRs Jalen McMillan (neck) and Chris Godwin (ankle) haven't played yet this season. Emeka Egbuka (hip/groin) played at less than 100% in Week 3, and the Bucs lost Mike Evans (hamstring) during the contest. For how long is unknown, but Shepard should see a larger role if the star wideout misses time. Until we know more about Evans' prognosis, Shepard could range from a one-week rental to a long-term depth option. In addition to Shepard, rookie Buccaneers WR Tez Johnson could be worth a speculative add in 14-team formats.

RB Ollie Gordon, Miami Dolphins | 46% | FAAB: 6-8%

The rookie rushed nine times for 38 yards and a hammered in goal-line TD in Week 3's Thursday Night Football meeting with the Buffalo Bills. That was a three-fold increase in carries from his first two games combined, and Gordon more than doubled his total yardage output. It's apparent the Dolphins will fully lean on De'Von Achane in passing situations, and he also has owned the rushing workload, too. Gordon's role will be largely tied to the scoreboard, but his upside to score a cheap touchdown positions him well for gamers in need of a warm body vs. the New York Jets' shaky run defense.

WR Elic Ayomanor, Tennessee Titans | 50% | FAAB: 5-7%

The rookie has appeared on this list several weeks now and still is floating about in roughly half of the leagues polled. The low-volume Tennessee passing game likely is a factor in why he hasn't been scooped up at a higher rate. Ayomanor has the eye of his rookie quarterback, and he now leads the Titans WRs in receptions and touchdowns while sitting second in target share. Admittedly, the numbers haven't been huge, but he ought to be rostered in 12-plus-team leagues.

WR Jalen Tolbert, Dallas Cowboys | 91% | FAAB: 1-2%

It appears as though WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle) escaped serious injury. However, whether he'll miss time and/or how long has yet to be determined. In the event the star receiver is forced to sit out multiple weeks, Tolbert should be rostered in leagues with at least 12 teams. We'll revisit this one, but be prepared to preemptively pounce if you're thin at the position. Dallas hosts Green Bay in Week 4, so the argument for utility beyond WR3/flex status is flimsy.

PK Joey Sly, Tennessee Titans | 79% | FAAB: 1-2%

We included Sly in this space last week, and he delivered once again. Even though he missed two field goals, the veteran kicker was granted a quartet of three-point attempts in each game. This offense is just enough to keep him relevant each week. Ride the hot foot.

Fantasy Football Waiver Picks to Stash

It would be wise to snag these guys for a rainy day, if you have the roster space.

RB Emari Demercado, Arizona Cardinals | 99% | FAAB: 1-3%

Piggybacking off the Benson recommendation, Demercado is worth stashing/handcuffing in cavernous leagues. His workload could come as a third-down option or change-of-pacer, which gives him a sliver of worth for PPR formats.

WR Rashid Shaheed, New Orleans Saints | 37% | FAAB: 1-3%

The deep threat came out of Week 3 with his third straight game at least five targets and four receptions. His floor of 8.2 in PPR scoring makes him a viable option in deep leagues, if you're looking to settle for someone with a pulse out of the WR3/flex spot. Shaheed is off to an encouraging start to his season.

Week 4 Fantasy Football Streamers

Looking for a one-week rental to cover an injury, a bye week, or to exploit a matchup? These players belong on your short list of targets.

QB Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets | 45% | FAAB: 0-1%

On the plus side, Tagovailoa has two touchdown tosses in consecutive games and at least one in all three. Conversely, he has chucked four picks on the year and fewer than 150 yards in two of the contests. New York's best defensive back, Sauce Gardner, exited Week 3 with a head injury, and his status for Week 4 is TBD. This isn't a slam dunk, nor is it even necessarily pretty outlook, but quarterback injuries galore could force your hand to rely on Tua's.

QB Joe Flacco, Cleveland Browns at Detroit Lions | 80% | FAAB: 0-1%

Bear in mind, this was written before the Lions play on Monday Night Football, so it's subject to change. Flacco could be tasked with throwing more than usual as the Lions have been a rather stout run defense over the last 19 games. Whether they can handle Derrick Henry will be a good measuring stick for how we can expect Cleveland to attack. Detroit's aerial game is capable of unleashing any given week, and Flacco could be put into a lineup consideration for that reason alone. We'll return to this one post-MNF.

Fantasy Watch List

Anyone in this section may not necessarily be worth adding just yet, depending on your league size and scope, but gamers should take notice and be ready to pounce.

TE Oronde Gadsden II, Los Angeles Chargers | 99%

The rookie drew praise during the offseason and is the son of a former NFL wide receiver. A Week 3 line of seven targets, five catches, and 46 yards in his first NFL action came with TE Will Dissly inactive, but it highlights Gadsden's pedigree. He could seize an opportunity and ascend, but this offense has a wealth of targets, so getting lost in the weekly shuffle is a real concern.
