Fantasy Football Week 6 Top Waiver Wire Adds

Week Six of the NFL regular season brings on a new set of questions for fantasy football managers. Whether it’s due to injury or breakout performance, these are the top waiver wire adds of the week. All statistics provided by Sleeper.

Dallas Cowboys’ Wide Receiver Ryan Flournoy

He may not be a long-term solution for fantasy football managers, but Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver Ryan Flournoy is the top player widely available at the position. Owned in just 5% of leagues, he’s getting a huge bump in value from injuries to wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin. His value will drop off a cliff as they return over the next couple of weeks, but for now, he’s WR2 on the third-ranked passing offense in the NFL.

Seattle Seahawks’ Tight End AJ Barner

Depending on the fantasy football league, Seattle Seahawks’ tight end AJ Barner may be the most difficult to pick up, owned by 46% of leagues. Quarterback Sam Darnold continues to build rapport with Barner and tight ends in general. The tight end is averaging 10.36 PPG in PPR formats and is an even more valuable asset in dynasty and TE premium leagues.

Los Angeles Chargers’ Running Backs Kimani Vidal and Hassan Haskins

The Los Angeles Chargers have been decimated at the running back position. Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton are listed on the IR, which gives a fantasy bump to both Kimani Vidal and Hassan Haskins. Sleeper has Haskins atop the depth chart and reports him being the “next man up,” despite scoring fewer fantasy points than Vidal last week.

Haskins is the better long-term play, being more likely to keep playing time when Hampton returns. Vidal is still a great solution to fill a void for a couple of weeks, and is slightly above in predicted fantasy points. Even if one of the two backs is the de facto RB1, it’s more likely to be a split than a heavy lean on one of them.

End Of My Fantasy Football Rant

Barner is the organic of the group to gain value, while the rest are injury plays. The reports on Lamb are vague, but it’s noted he could return in the next two weeks. It’s also mentioned that the Cowboys have “fingers crossed” for his teammate, Turpin, to return in Week 6, which is hopeful for Flournoy either way. He’s given the team something to think about after Pickens. The Chargers lost their top two running backs, so go pick up their replacements.
