The Kansas City Chiefs may have lost their top wide receiver option in Xavier Worthy with a shoulder injury on the first drop. While the Chiefs went three and out on the first drop of the game in Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers, they also saw Travis Kelce and Worthy have a little friendly fire that resulted in the 22-year-old former Texas Longhorns star heading to the locker room.

While this is a major problem for the three-time AFC Champion, there are fantasy owners across the country now suddenly frantically searching for some help with a possible long-term loss of Worthy.

So, who are the best options to help you with the loss of Worthy to your fantasy team? While the answer is not a gimme, there are some options available.

Best Chiefs WR to Add to Your Fantasy Football Team

Tyquan Thornton: The 25-year-old was a second-round draft pick out of Baylor. He started his career with the New England Patriots and came to Kansas City via thepractice squad in November. Despite being in the league for three full seasons, and has just two career touchdowns in the NFL. In 28 games, Thornton has just 39 receptions. So, this is certainly a risk. Keep in mind, Rashee Rice is also out for Kansas City. Thornton is going to be available, as according to ESPN's fantasy football leagues, he is just 0.2% owned. If you have room on your roster, he is one to look at, knowing Patrick Mahomes is going to find a way to get someone on his team the football.

According Fantasy Football Calculator, even before the loss of Worthy, this was his update:

"Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyquan Thornton, the New England Patriots' former second-round draft pick, has made the Chiefs' 53-man roster, multiple sources tell Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. The Chiefs love speed on offense, and Thornton ran the 40-yard dash in 4.28 seconds. He spent last year on the practice squad but impressed during training camp and the preseason and now will have a role on offense with quarterback Patrick Mahomes."

"The 24-year-old might end up being more of a gadget player in KC's offense, but the Chiefs could certainly use some receiver depth with Marquise Brown (ankle) still nursing an injury and with Rashee Rice expected to be suspended anywhere from four to six games at some point this year. "

Another Chiefs WR to Add to Your Fantasy Football Team

Jalen Royals: Royals did not play in Week 1, as he has a knee injury. The rookie fourth-round pick is just 22 years old. He finished his college career at Utah State and was a member of the Mountain West First team in 2023. The Chiefs got him for depth for Rashee Rice and Worthy, and there is no better time for depth receivers than now for the Chiefs. Early on, Royals was projected to eventually pick up a major role for the Chiefs, so it's not completely "out of left field" for him. He is another player who is basically going to be available in nearly every league.

Take a look at these two guys. Do not be afraid to pick them up and see how this plays out over the next few days with the news of Worthy and then whether Royals can get healthy in time for Week 2 or not.
