The first few games of the 2025 NFL regular season have been played. Up next? A busy 1 p.m. ET slate on Sunday that offers no shortage of compelling matchups, divisional matchups, and more. For the Miami Dolphins and the Indianapolis Colts, it's a chance to revisit an early season matchup from last season. That game, which the Colts won 16-10, will serve as the precursor to this year's contest.

These former divisional rivals don't play anywhere near as often as they used to, but this will be the fifth time they've played in the last eight seasons. The Colts have won four of the last five and eight of the last 10 head-to-head meetings between the two teams.

Who takes Week 1 this year?

Final Game And Score Predictions For Miami Dolphins At Indianapolis Colts

Destin Adams' prediction:

This game isn't being broadcast to most of the country, but I honestly think it is one of the most intriguing of the Week 1 slate. Two teams that on paper look evenly matched, coming off a season where both finished 8-9 and need to right the ship this year. I think this will be a back-and-forth affair where the last team to score probably ultimately wins the game.

I lean towards the home team Colts getting the job done. There is next-level pressure on this team to win games. Another year where they fail to make it to the playoffs, and it's safe to assume the new ownership will clean house. The Colts haven't won a Week 1 game since 2013, but I have them finally breaking that curse with a 24-20 win. Jonathan Taylor finds the end zone at least once and rushes for at least 80 yards.

Score prediction — Colts: 24 - Dolphins: 20

Kyle Crabbs' prediction:

There's been a whole bunch of noise surrounding the Dolphins and their perceived dysfunction this offseason. Things are usually never as bad (or as good) as they seem through the eye of public narrative, and no team embodies that better than Miami. They weren't the public darlings they were perceived to be early in 2023, just as they aren't the traveling, bumbling circus they are often tabbed as now.

With that said, Miami knows what killed its offense last season. I suspect we'll see some of the fruits of that effort against the Colts, with some more vertical running schemes that create more conflict for Lou Anarumo's defense. The Dolphins also know what killed their defense last season. They lacked turnovers and were one of the worst tackling teams in football. Miami attacked that effort head-on this offseason as well.

I believe a Daniel Jones quarterbacked offense with some new questions along their offensive line, among the full-time transitions to Tanor Bortolini and Matt Goncalves, can help Miami get its feet wet and be better at both in 2025.

Score prediction — Colts: 13 - Dolphins: 22
