Five biggest games on the Packers' 2024 NFL schedule
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

It's almost time for fans to know their teams' schedule for the 2024 NFL Season. The league is going to officially release the full schedule on Wednesday, May 15.

Meanwhile, we can already project the biggest games of the year for the Green Bay Packers.

At Eagles

The game will be special for several reasons. First, it's the season opener. Then, it's also the first NFL game in Brazil and South America in the league's history. The matchup will be held in Neo Quimica Arena, in São Paulo, on September 6. That's also an intriguing component, because the game will be played on a Friday, a day after the season opener between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens.

Finally, it's the first game between quarterbacks Jordan Love and Jalen Hurts as starters, a special game from players drafted in 2020 — Love faced the Eagles for less than a half in 2022, a game that is fresh in Packers' fans minds as a turning point in his development process.

At or vs. Bears

The two games against the Chicago Bears will be especially interesting because they will be the first ones of the Caleb Williams era in Chicago. Justin Fields didn't win any single game against the Packers, so the Bears will try again, but now with a quarterback with a much higher ceiling.

In week 1 of last year, the special component was Jordan Love's first start against the rival, and it went great for the Packers. Green Bay has had 10 consecutive wins over Chicago, and the team will try to keep that sequence in this new moment of the Bears' franchise.

At Lions

These are the two favorite teams in the NFC North, so one of the games will probably get at least a Thursday Night Football appearance. Last season, in Michigan, the Packers beat the Lions on Thanksgiving in a game that exemplified what the Packers could do and kicked off the best stretch of the Packers' season.

The Lions enter the season as favorites to win the division once again, and this game has the potential to decide how the season will unfold in the North.

Vs. 49ers

San Francisco has been a thorn in the Packers' side over the last decade, so it's always a big game. But it's also relevant because the 49ers are projected to be the strongest team in the NFC.

Therefore, it's a good barometer for the Packers after a solid performance in the divisional round. Can the Packers elevate their ceiling? How will Jeff Hafley's defense fare against such a top offensive unit? The Packers-49ers matchups have been frequent over the last few years, and that's another challenge on Matt LaFleur's way.

At Rams

It's always fun to watch Matt LaFleur facing Sean McVay, and it's a good game between two of the NFC overachievers in 2023.

Last season, the Packers and Rams were expected to be rebuilding teams based on their cash spending and the moves they had made. However, both leaned on their young players and coaching staffs to have strong seasons, making the playoffs in the NFC.

A year after that, the Packers and Rams try to show what they did in 2023 is sustainable, and this game has the potential to have big NFC playoff implications.
