The Tennessee Titans will be in the market for a new head coach this upcoming offseason, that's for sure.
After falling to 1-5 on the season, the Titans fired head coach Brian Callahan. His offense was such a disaster under his command that it scored just 83 points this season, which is the franchise's lowest total during a six-game span.
"We just felt like this was the right time to make a change," Titans president of football operations Chad Brinker said. "We were looking for growth in this football team, and that's what this is about right now. We're not seeing enough growth from this football team."
The Titans have gone 2-7 under interim coach Mike McCoy. They've actually won two out of their past three games, so it's fair to say they're trending in the right direction.
Although the 2025 season isn't over yet for the Titans, a few candidates have emerged for the head-coaching vacancy.
CBS Sports insider Jonathan Jones mentioned these five candidates for the job:
For starters, the Titans have a potential-packed quarterback in Cam Ward. The No. 1 pick from the 2025 NFL Draft is completing 60.2% of his passes this season for 2,866 yards with 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
The Titans also have the most cap space heading into the 2026 offseason. Their front office should be able to upgrade the roster for their new head coach.
If the Titans make the right personnel decisions in the offseason, they could be a sleeper team in the AFC South next year.
