Former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings is drawing interest on the open market, with at least one team already bringing him in for a visit.

According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, Jennings is meeting with the Minnesota Vikings as he explores his next opportunity in free agency. While the Miami Dolphins were previously linked to the veteran receiver, Minnesota appears to be firmly in the mix.

San Francisco's wide receiver room has undergone significant offseason turnover. In addition to Jennings' departure, the team also lost Kendrick Bourne and Skyy Moore in free agency. Meanwhile, Brandon Aiyuk is widely expected to be on his way out as well.

The 49ers did add veteran reinforcements, signing Christian Kirk and longtime Tampa Bay Buccaneers standout Mike Evans.

The team also invested in the position during the 2026 NFL Draft, using its first selection on De'Zhaun Stribling out of Mississippi. The move likely closed the door on a Jennings return, as San Francisco viewed Stribling as the top blocking wide receiver in the class.

"I think everyone knows how good of a blocker Jauan was—or is—and how big he's been for us in that way," head coach Kyle Shanahan said. "So, we have a hole without that. So this guy definitely can fill that."

San Francisco originally selected Jennings in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. After making his debut in 2021, he went on to total 210 receptions for 2,581 yards and 22 touchdowns over five NFL seasons.

If Jennings signs with a new team, the 49ers will not receive a compensatory pick, as any deal would come after the draft.
