Former Bengals, Titans DE Amani Bledsoe suspended six games for PED violation

Defensive end Amani Bledsoe has spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals and, most recently, the Tennessee Titans during an NFL career that began in the spring of 2019.

Bledsoe is currently unattached and won't be available for a portion of the 2022 season if he puts pen to paper on a contract with a team before September.

According to Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports, the NFL has suspended Bledsoe for the first six games of the next campaign due to a violation of the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. It's unknown exactly what Bledsoe is accused of doing and/or using, either intentionally or not.

This isn't the first time the 24-year-old has found himself in hot water regarding banned substances. As Tyler Palmateer wrote for The Norman Transcript, Bledsoe lost a year of NCAA eligibility after he failed a random drug test in 2016. He later claimed he unknowingly ingested clomiphene that was in a protein powder offered to him by a teammate.

Bledsoe appeared in five games for the Titans with two starts during the 2021 season. He tallied a single tackle and one pass breakup after playing in 14 games for the Bengals the prior campaign.
