With the NFL Draft just weeks away, free agency has taken a back seat to rookie evaluation. That should change after the draft (once teams have a clearer understanding of their roster), but there hasn't been much movement recently.
However, some minor news was reported this week. According to Peter Schrager of ESPN , "FA pass rusher DeMarcus Walker, a starting DE for the (Chicago) Bears in 2024, is visiting with the (New York) Giants tomorrow."

Last season, Walker started all 17 games for the Bears, recording 47 tackles (25 solo), 3.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss, and 7.5 run stops.
Walker started his NFL journey with the Denver Broncos, who selected him in the second round (No. 51 overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Florida State University.
Walker only started five games in his Broncos tenure but was a valuable rotational piece on the defensive line. He had 51 tackles (31 solo), 10.5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery over four seasons.
In between his time in Denver and Chicago, Walker also played for the Houston Texans and the Tennessee Titans. Throughout his eight-year career, he has started 42 games and compiled 191 tackles (117 solo), 26.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, 40 tackles for loss, and 26.5 run stops.
Walker isn't considered a game-changer, but he would bring veteran leadership and experience to the Giants' defensive line. There is also familiarity with the coaching staff. Giants defensive coordinator Shane Bowen coached Walker while with the Tennessee Titans in 2022.
