Former Browns EVP Sashi Brown leaving Wizards to join Ravens

Former Cleveland Browns executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown was in headlines earlier this week when the executive director of the Hue Jackson Foundation claimed Brown and Jackson were among individuals who received money for "tanking" the 2016 and 2017 NFL seasons, across which the Browns won only a single game with Jackson as head coach.

Brown was fired by the Browns late in the 2017 season and ultimately joined Monumental Sports and the Washington Wizards of the NBA in 2019. However, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Adam Schefter reported Friday Brown is heading back to the AFC North and joining the Baltimore Ravens as an executive.

Brown's exact role with the Ravens is unclear.

The Browns compiled a record of 1-27 with Brown serving as head of football operations. On Wednesday, the club strongly denied the "categorically false" idea that anybody associated with the team at that time received bonus money for intentionally losing games, and team owner Jimmy Haslam lashed out at Jackson via comments made Thursday night.

"Hue Jackson has never ever accepted any responsibility for our record during that time period," Haslam remarked. "He’s been masterful at pointing fingers but has never accepted any blame. I have accepted a ton of blame, and rightfully so. There are a lot of things I could’ve done better. Hue has never accepted blame for one thing."

The 24-27 Wizards are currently outside of the NBA's Eastern Conference playoff spots.
