Former Clemson Star Nate Wiggins Eyes Breakout Year in Baltimore

In a league where cornerbacks are often content to just lock down their side of the field, Nate Wiggins is thinking bigger. He’s not just aiming for a solid sophomore season; he's targeting outright dominance.

The Baltimore Ravens' second-year corner, fresh off a promising rookie campaign, laid down a bold marker for his 2025 season.

"Ten-plus turnovers," Wiggins declared on the Ravens’ "The Lounge" podcast. "No matter if it is interceptions, forced fumbles. I need 10-plus."

It's a lofty number, the kind that puts a player in the All-Pro conversation. But Wiggins isn't just talking. He spent his offseason physically transforming to turn that goal into reality. The former Clemson standout has packed on 10 pounds of muscle, working meticulously with Ravens Director of Sports Nutrition Sarah Snyder to build a frame ready for the rigors of a No. 1 corner role.

"I feel like this year is just going to be more power, more strength," Wiggins said, noting he's not done adding size. "I’m still trending to gain more pounds."

That added power is meant to build on a rookie season where the 30th overall pick steadily became a critical piece of the Ravens' formidable defense. After carving out a significant role, Wiggins proved he belonged, tallying 33 tackles and an impressive 13 pass breakups. He gave the league a flash of his game-changing ability in Week 18 with a pick-six against the rival Cleveland Browns and added a forced fumble to his season totals.

Now, with a full year of experience and a renewed physique, Wiggins is no longer just a promising rookie. He’s positioning himself to be a foundational piece of Baltimore's defensive identity, a shutdown artist with a clear, audacious goal: take the ball away, and do it better than almost anyone else in the league.
