Jim Mora Sr. is winning at life. The former NFL coach, famously known for his 'Playoffs' rant, recently celebrated a milestone birthday with his 90th trip around the sun. His son, Jim Mora Jr., was with him in the weight room last week and showed off his father's outstanding strength as he nears the century mark.
"My dad, @bigjimmora turned 90 yesterday, Mora Jr. wrote on X (Formerly Twitter). This is the last set of a 85 minute weight lifting session he does 2 times a week, along with @onepeloton 3 times a week. Don’t ever stop moving, don’t ever let the old man in, it’s a mindset!"

Before his days with the Colts and Saints, Mora Sr. was an assistant under Eddie Crowder at Colorado in the late 60s and early 70s. He was an outstanding recruiter who worked in areas of the country rarely touched by traditional SEC schools, which created stiff competition in the Big Eight.
Colorado played Alabama in the 1969 Liberty Bowl and gave Bear Bryant a different perspective in the landmark win. Mora witnessed it all on the Buffs sideline in Memphis. "I think we taught Alabama a lesson," Mora said in 2015. "That was a time when they refused to recruit any African-American players and it hurt them. CU and other schools were recruiting places like Texas and Louisiana to find elite talent."
Mora was one of the lead recruiters responsible for bringing Cliff Branch to Colorado. The late Pro Football Hall of Fame won three Super Bowls with the Los Angeles Raiders after his time in Boulder. Branch still holds the NFL record for longest receiving touchdown at 99 yards.
While Mora has been out of coaching for nearly a quarter-century, he's still sticking to a strict daily routine to enjoy life to the fullest.
