Former Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl wide receiver DeSean Jackson is about to become a college football head coach.
Per Victory Formation's Jeff Lightsy Jr., Jackson is becoming the next head coach at Delaware State.
Delaware State football plays at the FCS level in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in Dover, DE. The last NFL player from the program was Rodney Gunter, who played for the Arizona Cardinals from 2015-19.
DSU is a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). Per ESPN's Pete Thamel, coaching an HBCU has "always been a dream" for Jackson.
Per a source, it has always been a dream of Jackson's to coach at an HBCU. That dream could be a reality in the near future. First reported by @jlightsy7.

Jackson isn't the only former Eagle to be hired recently by an HBCU. Michael Vick was recently introduced as the new head coach at fellow MEAC program Norfolk State. Jackson and Vick played together in Philadelphia from 2009-13, and now they're both leading HBCU teams.
It's been 11 years since Jackson, who turned 38 this month, last played for the Eagles. He caught 356 passes for 6,117 yards and 32 touchdowns and made three Pro Bowls. His 15-year playing career wrapped up following the 2022 season after spending time with six different teams.
Dover is only about 80 miles from Philly, so maybe Jackson will pop around the Linc every now and then on official business with his new gig.
