Former ESPN Host Trey Wingo Receives Unfortunate Career News

Less than a year ago, former ESPN host Trey Wingo joined forces with DraftKings Network.

Wingo received his own show with DraftKings Network called Pregame PowerUp. It aired before every Monday and Thursday night game during the 2024 season. Unfortunately, his show won't be sticking around for this fall.

Sports media insider John Ourand reported this week that Wingo has parted ways with DraftKings Network. It's unclear if his contract was terminated or if the two sides just failed to reach another agreement.

This isn't what NFL fans want to hear, especially since they were eager to see how the post-ESPN part of Wingo's career would play out. He was with the Worldwide Leader In Sports from 1997-2020

Interestingly enough, Wingo isn't the only marquee name that's moving on from their time with DraftKings Network.

It was confirmed in January that former ESPN Radio host Mike Golic and his son, Mike Golic Jr., won't have their contracts renewed for the 2025 season.

"After careful consideration, DraftKings has decided not to renew agreements with Mike Golic Sr. and Mike Golic Jr. for GoJo and Golic. We want to thank the Golics for their contributions to DraftKings," the company said in a statement. "We remain focused on optimizing current and future content investments to continue to grow the audiences for DraftKings Network and DraftKingsNetwork.com."

Golic and his son have been part of DraftKings Network since 2021. Their contracts officially expire this month. According to Front Office Sports, they've had "exploratory talks" with Yahoo Sports, but a deal isn't imminent at this time.
