Former Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano is returning to the NFL for the 2025 season.

Pagano started his coaching career in 1984 as a graduate assistant at USC. That eventually led to him having stints at Miami, Boise State, East Carolina, and UNLV. It wasn't until 2001 when he joined the Cleveland Browns as a secondary coach. Fast forward nearly a decade later, and the Colts hired him to lead their franchise.

During his run with the Colts from 2012-2017, Pagano had a 53-43 record. They went to the AFC Championship Game during the 2014 season. Two years after being fired by Indianapolis, he agreed to become the defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears. That stint ended after the 2020 season.

Even though Pagano has been out of the NFL for the past few seasons, the Baltimore Ravens have no issue adding him to their staff. On Tuesday night, they announced that he'll be their senior secondary coach for the 2025 season.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh made it known that he's amped up about this addition to his staff.

"It is exciting to add Coach Chuck Pagano to our defensive staff and continue to develop our young and talented secondary," Harbaugh said. "Chuck brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and coaching talent to our team. He has deep ties to the program and is excited to get to work."

Pagano has history working with the Ravens. He was Harbaugh's secondary coach for three seasons before being promoted to defensive coordinator. His success in Baltimore is what led him to Indianapolis.

It'll be interesting to see how Pagano performs during his second stint with the Ravens.

Pagano, 64, will bring a ton of experience to Baltimore's staff. The Ravens are obviously hoping he'll improve their defense, which ranked 31st in passing yards allowed this season.

The Ravens went 12-5 this season before being eliminated in the divisional round of the playoffs.
