The Las Vegas Raiders take being a Raider very seriously, no matter how many games you played in silver and black. They are one of the franchises that made being alumni cool, as they throw parties every year, several times a year, honoring those who have played for the Raiders.
The same can be said about Carl Weathers, who was famous for his role in the movie Rocky as Apollo Creed. He also played as a linebacker for the Raiders and was undrafted from San Diego State.
On Friday, Weathers passed away at the age of 76.
Weathers didn't play a ton for the Oakland Raiders the two seasons he was there from 1970-1971. He played just eight total games, but everyone knew who he was.
Weathers made the transition from football to the big screen seamlessly. Today and forever, Raider Nation and the rest of the football and movie world mourn the death of Weathers.
