The sage of controversial wide receiver Antonio Brown has taken a drastic turn.

According to multiple reports, Brown has an arrest warrant issued for him related to an attempted murder charge in Miami.

On May 17, Brown attended a boxing event held by social media influencer Adin Ross in a Miami warehouse. Videos and other posts from the event showed Brown being jumped by multiple people trying to steal his jewelry. Other videos later showed Brown running towards a group of people while holding a firearm, with shots ringing out seconds after he leaves the frame.

Brown was detained that night, but it remains unknown if he has been arrested on this charge, or whether he has found a lawyer.

Brown was acquired by the then-Oakland Raiders in 2019 in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers for a pair of mid-round picks. However, a series of incidents resulted in Brown’s guaranteed money being voided and the team releasing him before he even played a game with the Raiders. He would later join the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, joining up with current Raiders minority owner Tom Brady and winning a Super Bowl with the latter.

However, Brown’s career ended abruptly after a controversial incident in a 2021 game against the New York Jets when he removed his jersey and left the field mid-game, and his relationship with Brady swiftly deteriorated shortly after.

Since retiring, Brown has built an impressive social media following on X. With his takes on sports and politics, Brown has amassed 2.5 million followers on the site.

However, it appears that Brown’s newfound Internet fame might have gotten him into hot water.
