George Kittle raves about 'freak' 49ers rookie wideout

San Francisco 49ers rookie Isaiah Neyor may not have heard his name called during the 2025 NFL Draft, but he's already turning heads this offseason and earning high praise from one of the team's biggest stars.

All-Pro tight end George Kittle recently joined the Bussin' With The Boys podcast and singled out Neyor, an undrafted free agent wide receiver out of Nebraska, as one of the most impressive newcomers on the roster.

"He's a good kid. I like him," Kittle said. "He's a freak. He is really tall. I watched him, he was running a route, and he got like nine and a half yards in two strides. I was like, 'Holy s--t.' It was insane. We watched it like 10 times as the tight end room. We're like, 'How is he doing this?'"

Kittle believes Neyor has a legitimate shot to carve out a role with the 49ers despite fierce competition in the wide receiver room. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 218 pounds, Neyor boasts the kind of rare physical tools that make coaches—and teammates—take notice.

"I mean, if you're that tall, just make plays, and do well on special teams, at the bare minimum, he should make the practice squad," Kittle added.

Neyor ran a 4.4-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, and he's quickly becoming one of the 49ers' most intriguing undrafted rookies heading into training camp.

With Deebo Samuel now in Washington and Brandon Aiyuk (ACL, MCL) unlikely to be ready for Week 1, the 49ers are counting on a reshuffled wide receiver group in 2025. Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall are currently penciled in as the starting wideouts for the season opener against the Seattle Seahawks.

The depth chart also includes second-year receiver Jacob Cowing, who's quietly putting together a strong offseason, along with veteran Demarcus Robinson and rookie draft picks Jordan Watkins and Junior Bergen, setting the stage for a highly competitive training camp battle.

If Neyor continues to impress, his path from undrafted to impact player could be one of the more exciting storylines of training camp.
