The father of one edge rusher in the 2026 recruiting class played for the Georgia Bulldogs. That has the Bulldogs knocking on the door for the 3-star prospect.
But they will have to beat SEC East rival, the Tennessee Volunteers, to win a commitment from Kedric Golston II.
“Tennessee and Georgia are one and two on my list. There is no order, but the two SEC schools are on top. I like SEC football and that helps those two stand out for me," Golston told On3's Chad Simmons.
Golston's father played at Georgia from 2002-05. He went on to become a sixth-round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft for the then Washington Redskins and played 11 seasons for the team.
Georgia could hold an advantage for Golston because of that previous relationship. But the Bulldogs aren't taking that for granted.
“Georgia is very consistent with me. Multiple people reach out to me daily and I like their scheme and how they would use me as an outside linebacker,” said Golston.
Golsto, though, visited Tennessee last weekend. The visit went very well.
“The culture and the coaches really stood out at Tennessee last week,” Golston told On3. “I saw them in the spring with all the energy, then on this past visit, they were chill and that was great to see. They always make me feel like a priority, with I like how consistent they have been with me.

Georgia and Tennessee are leading Golston's recruitment, but the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and Virginia Tech Hokies are also still involved.
Golston will visit Rutgers this weekend and Tennessee again on June 6. The edge rusher will then see Georgia on June 13 and Virginia Tech the following weekend.
The 247 Sports composite rankings have Golston rated as the No. 42 edge rusher and a top 450 overall recruit in the 2026 class.
