Giants baffle fans with quarterback sneak on long third down

The New York Giants' lackluster season is mercifully coming to an end Sunday and it appears as though coach Joe Judge is more than ready to throw in the towel.

Never was that more evident than a third down for the Giants deep in their own territory in the second quarter. Needing nine yards for a first down, New York instead lined up for an incredibly obvious quarterback sneak and bulldozed ahead for just one yard against the Washington defense.

Commentators blasted the playcall and fans at MetLife Stadium were shown frustrated and angered by the decision. Cameras later showed multiple Giants fans in the crowd wearing paper bags on their heads.

Much of the issue for the Giants offense is the lack of consistent quarterback play since Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending neck injury. Mike Glennon started four games with four touchdowns and 10 interceptions, while Jake Fromm is making his second start in Week 18. Fromm has completed fewer than half of his career passes and hasn't yet thrown a touchdown pass in the NFL.
