New York Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale told reporters Thursday that he's been "sleeping like a baby" ahead of the team's Week 5 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
Instead of using the phrase in its typical meaning of sleeping soundly though, Martindale explained how preparing for the explosive Dolphins offense has actually led to some restless nights.
#Giants DC Wink Martindale quip on facing #Finsup after they scored 70: ‘I’m sleeping like a baby. Every 2 hours I wake up, cry and go to the bathroom.’

Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale super complimentary about Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel. He compares Miami’s offense to the Rams’ Greatest Show on Turf.

Says Dolphins offense is the “2023 supersonic” version of the Greatest Show on Turf. So fast, always looking to…
Miami beat the Denver Broncos 70-20 in Week 3, before suffering its first loss of the year in Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills. The Bills limited the Dolphins to "only" three touchdowns in a 48-20 blowout.
Even with Sunday's loss, head coach Mike McDaniel's crew leads the NFL in nearly every offensive category.
Miami paces the league in total offense (511 yards per game) by more than 100 yards over the second-ranked San Francisco 49ers (398). The Dolphins also lead the NFL in passing (334.3) and rushing yards per contest (176.8) and are first in points per game as well (37.5).
Unsurprisingly, the offense features perhaps the current MVP front-runner in quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, along with a dark-horse candidate in wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
The Giants defense has had its moments through the first quarter of the season, but each of its opponents has dropped at least 24 points on the unit thus far. The Giants rank third-to-last in the league in points allowed per game (30.5).
