The New York Giants made some major improvements during the 2026 offseason. New York added John Harbaugh at head coach and added a ton of talent to both sides of the roster. The Giants will get a huge litmus test in a big divisional game to start the season. One Giants player is especially ready for that matchup.
Giants edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux made his opinion about the Cowboys incredibly clear during a recent interview.
“I hate them,” Thibodeaux said about the Cowboys on Monday at the annual New York Giants Town Hall, per NFL reporter Ryan Dunleavy. “I think it’s the right place at the right time with the right people, with the right coaches, with the right fans. This is the perfect year for a miracle story.”
New York will open the 2026 season with a Sunday Night Football game against Dallas. The Cowboys are a hated division rival, so the season opener will be a huge game right out of the gates.
The Giants should put up more of a fight than the last time they had this exact matchup. In 2023, Dallas crushed New York 40-0 on Sunday Night Football in Week 1.
If there’s any year for New York to change the narrative around that rivalry, 2026 is it.
The Giants crushed the 2026 NFL Draft, bringing in several foundational pieces in the trenches. New York’s defense should truly be fearsome with Arvell Reese added to the front seven. They should also have a better offensive line with Francisc Mauigoa added to the unit.
If QB Jaxson Dart can take a big step forward in 2026, there’s no telling how high the ceiling will be for New York.
