As New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart introduced President Donald Trump at an event last week, it has resulted in a ton of conversation surrounding the team. While some were questioning if there was locker room tension in the Giants, especially with Dart’s introduction and Abdul Carter later calling out the event at the time, the quarterback has broken his silence on the matter.
While Carter would post after his initial comment questioning Dart’s actions in introducing the highly polarizing political figure, the defensive star would say the two had hashed it out, downplaying any concerns. Dart would use Friday to release his statement on the matter, describing the “unique opportunity” he had in introducing Trump at the rally in New York last week.
“Obviously, this was a unique opportunity, being asked and given the opportunity to introduce the President of the United States. My thinking was pretty simple…I’ve always loved this country,” Dart said, via SNY Giants. “I have extended family members who have fought in wars. I have two uncles who have retired from the Air Force Academy and served themselves, and I even have a great-grandfather who served as Secretary of Treasury at some point, so the president position has always been a position that I’ve well respected, regardless of political affiliation, regardless of political party, and my intentions were just that.”

Dart would continue talking about how he understands the limelight that’s put on himself with being the starting quarterback for the Giants, saying how “politics can be a sensitive matter.” Aside from stating his love for New York and everybody within the organization, citing himself as a “connector,” he would also emphasize the love he has for his teammates, no matter the differences.
“Most importantly, I can honestly say that I love every single one of my brothers, my teammates on this team, regardless of politics, regardless of religious beliefs, regardless of anything that may be different between us, like I love them, and they know exactly what kind of person that I am, who comes into the facility every day,” Dart said.
When Dart was asked follow-up questions about the situation, he would cite back to his statement. At any rate, with the issue apparently in the rear-view mirror, Dart and New York prepare in the summer for a hopeful, successful 2026 season.
