
Arvell Reese and the New York Giants are sitting at No. 1 in the NFC East with a 3-1 record as they head into their Week 5 matchup against Dan Quinn and the Washington Commanders. New York is coming off a 36-24 decisive win over Mike LaFleur and the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Both teams came in with high-profile running backs, featuring the No. 3 overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, Jeremiyah Love, who ran for 63 yards on 14 carries. Giants running back Cam Skattebo finished with 58 yards on 18 carries. For New York, backup quarterback Jameis Winston has stepped up for the injured Jaxson Dart, with the veteran throwing for 250 passing yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Wide receiver Malik Nabers finished with six catches, 112 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Arizona quarterback Jacoby Brissett had a tough day, throwing three interceptions in the game. One of those to pick off Brissett was Giants rookie linebacker Arvell Reese. Reese finished the game with a game-high nine solo tackles. The total brought the No. 5 overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft to 27, giving him the league lead.
On Tuesday, the NFL went to the social media website X to ask fans who should be the Pepsi Rookie of the Week for Week 5, with Reese being named as one of the possible candidates.
The Giants quoted the post, requesting fans to vote for the Glenville High School graduate for the honor. Also in the post is a picture of Reese along with the caption for the award.
