Giants OL coach Bobby Johnson takes 'full responsibility' for part in training camp brawl

Fights among teammates are common events during NFL training camp practices. However, members of the New York Giants were involved in a unique occurrence Monday when offensive line coach Bobby Johnson pushed linebacker Cam Brown after Brown had reportedly attempted to pull starting center Jon Feliciano away from a skirmish.

Feliciano and Brown then exchanged punches while wearing helmets, and rookie tight end Daniel Bellinger later noted that head coach Brian Daboll told players that "losing teams do that" shortly after the quarrel.

According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, Johnson has since apologized for his actions on Monday.

"The incident [Monday], I take full responsibility," Johnson explained during a previously-planned news conference. "I'm remorseful. It can't happen. It won't happen again.

"I've apologized to the appropriate people. In particular, Cam. I have to be better than that. It's not what we're looking for. It's a regrettable incident that can't and won't happen again."

Raanan added that "it is not believed any disciplinary actions were taken" and also wrote that Daboll spoke with all of the individuals involved.

"I would say really for everyone that was involved in that, that is not what we're looking to do. It has been addressed," Daboll remarked on Tuesday. "I spoke to the team. I spoke to the coaches. They know the expectations. We're not going to lose our composure like that."

Daboll's first game in charge of the Giants will be Thursday's preseason opener at the New England Patriots.
