Giants sign two-time Pro Bowl TE Kyle Rudolph to two-year deal

Two-time Pro Bowl tight end and 10-year NFL veteran Kyle Rudolph was released by the Minnesota Vikings earlier this month.

Roughly 24 hours into the new league year, the 31-year-old found his next football stop.

ESPN's Adam Schefter and others reported Rudolph has agreed to a two-year deal with the New York Giants to play alongside fellow tight end Evan Engram. As noted by Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Rudolph's agents announced via Instagram the contract could be worth up to $16 million but later deleted that post.

Rudolph was limited to 12 games last season due to a Lisfranc sprain and caught only 28 passes for 334 yards and a single touchdown. He made Pro Bowl squads in 2012 and 2017 and, per Pro Football Focus, should bring consistency to the position the Giants have lacked for years.

Kyle Rudolph has graded 70+ overall in 6 of his 10 seasons and all have been 60+.

Engram, a first-round pick from the 2017 NFL Draft, has largely underwhelmed but made the Pro Bowl in 2020. He's entering the fifth-year-option portion of his rookie contract and could be a trade target at any point before the fall's deadline for such transactions.
