Following a dominant performance in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions, the Green Bay Packers picked up right where they left off this evening against the Washington Commanders. The Packers took a 14-3 lead into the halftime break. Green Bay was solid on both sides of the ball in the first 30 minutes. Packers Quarterback Jordan Love sliced up the Washington defense. He finished 13-of-18 for 214 yards and a touchdown in the first half. Packers Running Back Josh Jacobs also had a rushing touchdown.
The defense of the Green Bay Packers made Commanders Quarterback Jayden Daniels look uneasy for most of the first half. The Commanders, to their credit, had some positives on offense late in the second quarter, but the Green Bay defense limited them to a mere field goal. Can the Green Bay Packers keep it going in the second half?
Green Bay must do more of what it did in the first half. It is imperative for the Washington Commanders, who receive the second half kickoff, to get some points out of their opening drive. If not, this game at Lambeau Field could get out of hand. In what was billed as a marquee game, the first half did not live up to the billing.
