The Green Bay Packers’ Week 2 win against the Washington Commanders came at quite a cost. The Packers went up 2-0 to start the season, but in the process, they lost wide receiver Jayden Reed to what was later diagnosed as a multi-week injury.
Reed exited the Commanders game in the first quarter after being tackled out of bounds. As it turns out, the 25-year-old fractured his collarbone. It was reported that he will need to undergo surgery and is now expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks.
On Tuesday, Reed took to social media to announce an update on his surgery. As it turns out, the former Michigan State standout also went under the knife to address a separate offseason injury.
“Successful foot & clavicle surgery thank you God ” Reed posted on X.

The surgery on his clavicle was known, but it wasn’t until Reed revealed on Tuesday that he also underwent surgery on his foot that this crucial piece of information went public.
Reed suffered a Jones foot fracture in his left foot during training camp. However, the former second-round pick was able to recover in time to help the Packers secure a 27-13 win against the Detroit Lions in their season opener.
It appears that Reed and the Packers took advantage of his extended absence for the collarbone injury to address another issue. It’s possible that the foot injury required surgery as well, but they previously decided to push it back. It makes sense to address the foot issue now since he’s going to be sidelined for up to two months anyway.
Either way, the good news here is that Reed is doing well. Both surgeries were successful, and it appears that there has been no change in his expected timeline.
