Green Bay Packers fans must have let out a big sigh of relief collectively upon the return of star quarterback Jordan Love to practice on Monday. It was just last week that Love underwent surgery on his thumb (non-throwing hand), but he appears to be on track to be ready to see action come Week 1 of the 2025 NFL regular season.
Love reportedly joined the Packers on the field for some 7-on-7 drills, which is something that head coach Matt LaFleur is not much of a fan of, but thought would help the quarterback catch up faster.
Love is not expected to play in this coming Saturday’s meeting with the Seattle Seahawks at Lambeau Field, but what LaFleur said about the signal-caller’s showing in Monday’s practice was still welcome news for Green Bay and the team’s fans.
Via Rob Demovsky of ESPN:
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said he thought Jordan Love got in good work yesterday in his return from his thumb injury. He said he will be limited when the Seahawks come in for the joint practice on Thursday, but likely will do 7 on 7 vs. Seattle.
The Packers did not need Love to earn their first win of the preseason last Saturday, as they defeated the Indianapolis Colts, 23-19, on the road sans the quarterback. Against the Seahawks, Malik Willis, Sean Clifford and Taylor Elgersma can be expected to rotate under center for the Packers, who are scheduled to lock horns with the Detroit Lions in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season.
