The Hamilton Tiger-Cats were one of the more interesting teams to watch in 2024, as veteran signal Bo-Levi Mitchell attempted to continue his case for greatness north of the border with the team.
Mitchell was deemed one of the team's best players in 2024, but the defense did not get much love until after their week 15 game against the Ottawa Redblacks. The team is looking to add some championship-caliber play to the defensive backfield.
According to the CFL , the Tabbies have brought in former Grey Cup Champion and CFL All-star DaShaun Amos following his immaculate 2024 with the Toronto Argonauts. He was indeed a part of their championship-winning defense.
Amos has won three Grey Cups in his career, winning two with the Argos and one with the Calgary Stampeders. He’s also earned himself two All-Star selections, one in 2018 with the Stamps and, of course, in 2024 with Toronto.
Amos’ 2024 stats saw him accumulate 25 tackles, five interceptions, and a touchdown through 18 games with Toronto. He has played 73 games throughout his CFL career, making 168 tackles, 16 interceptions and two touchdowns.
The 31-year-old defensive back will undoubtedly look to make a difference in the Tabby’s backfield when they open their 2025 season against the Calgary Stampeders on June 7 in Calgary.
