GLENDALE – The Arizona Cardinals’ biggest problem in 2025 was inconsistent play from the offensive line. Injuries forced players to play out of position and lost all connectivity. The franchise didn’t have anyone ready to step up, luckily for it Chase Bisontis is ready to be “that guy.” The second-round pick from the 2026 NFL draft spoke at his introductory press conference about his motivation to be the leader in the trenches.

Bisontis on his desire to be Cardinals top lineman:

“I’m really attacking it from center out. Because if something goes wrong, I want to be that guy. To know all five, even the tight end and running back, their responsibilities, will be helpful. I’m just ready to do whatever. Whatever gets me on the field, whatever helps the team and myself.”

Last season, the offense was bottom five in rushing yards per game and sacks allowed. Despite having stellar lineman like Paris Johnson Jr. and Hjalte Froholdt, the pieces surrounding them weren’t matching the production. Injuries and schematically issues played a part in that, but a lack of leadership was truly the final nail in the coffin for 2025.

It’s hard to stay positive at 3-14, but Bisontis stated on Monday he’s ready for the challenge and wants to lead by example. Despite playing mostly left guard in college, the 21-year-old is open to playing interior or exterior on the offensive line. Newly-signed veteran free agent Isaac Seumalo plays left guard, making Bisontis openness to move positions massive.

The logical choice would be for him to to right guard, replacing Isaiah Adams from last year. The only hole left for the unit is right tackle isn’t as strong as the other four positions. General manager Monti Ossenfort countered that problem by signing a surplus of veteran offensive lineman to improve depth and get as many options for head coach Mike LaFleur to find his right tackle.
