The Cincinnati Bengals vowed to pay their star receivers this offseason, and they certainly did. Ja’Marr Chase signed a four-year, $161 million deal that not only put him atop the list of highest-paid wide receivers, but it briefly made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. (Green Bay Packers edge defender Micah Parsons now holds that distinction.)
Tee Higgins also netted a four-year, $115 million extension from the Bengals. Both signed their new deals on the same day this offseason.
Chase, who reached the Pro Bowl in each of his first four seasons and broke through for his first All-Pro selection in 2024, was in the final year of his rookie contract before signing the extension. His average annual value (AAV) of $40.2 million eclipsed the mark held by Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett ($40 million). Only Parsons ($46.5 million), who signed a new deal with Green Bay on the eve of the season, boasts a higher AAV figure among non-QBs. Higgins’ AAV of $28.7 million ranks 11th among wideouts.
