Tennessee Vols true freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava will receive his first career start on Monday in UT's matchup against the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Citrus Bowl.
Iamaleava is getting the start because redshirt senior quarterback Joe Milton opted out of the game in preparation for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Tennessee signed Iamaleava as part of their 2023 recruiting class. The California native was rated as the No. 1 overall player in the nation by On3.
Iamaleava's last name can be a bit tricky for some folks -- like ESPN's College GameDay crew.
The College Gameday crew is butchering Nico’s name. Do better. It’s not funny.@ESPNCFB @CollegeGameDay

Gameday needs to stop trying to pronounce Nico’s name …

The correct pronunciation is ee-ah-MAH-LAY-ah-va.
And if you need some more help, here's the correct pronunciation from the man himself.
