While the Kansas City Chiefs have a fairly sizable lead in the AFC West at the season's mid-point, two of their three rivals are still very much in the playoff picture with reasons for hope that even a divisional title is not out of the question. That's what makes the Chiefs' next game—a Week 10 matchup against the Denver Broncos—so important.
Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos are scheduled to visit Arrowhead on Sunday afternoon and look a lot more formidable as a team than they did in the first couple of weeks on the season. Bo Nix is playing much better than he did in early September as the team's rookie quarterback and Denver's defense has gotten serious as a unit and carried the team to several wins.
At the present time, the Broncos might be third in the pecking order of the AFC West, but at 5-4, they're very much in the thick of things for a Wild Card spot. They also have two games looming against the division-leading Chiefs, so if they'd rather take the straightest path toward success, it begins with an upset at Arrowhead.
Can the Chiefs move their record to 9-0? Are the Broncos a trap game before facing the Buffalo Bills? It will be interesting to see how ready both teams look at this juncture.
The Chiefs will stay at home for the second game in a row in Week 10 as they welcome the Denver Broncos for the first of two scheduled contests between them this season. The Broncos and Chiefs are scheduled to take the field at 12:00 p.m. C.T. on Sunday, Nov. 10
Chiefs broadcasting legend Mitch Holthus will be calling the game on the Chiefs radio network alongside former wide receiver and color commentator Danan Hughes. Josh Klingler will be on the sidelines.
