Howie Roseman May Blow Up the Philadelphia Eagles Roster

The Philadelphia Eagles entered 2026 expecting to contend for another Super Bowl.

Seven games later, Howie Roseman may be preparing to dismantle a significant portion of the roster.

Philadelphia is 2-5 and riding a five-game losing streak, and with the Nov. 10 trade deadline approaching, multiple reports now identify the Eagles as one of the NFL’s most obvious potential sellers.

The list of possible departures is surprisingly long.

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Riq Woolen, Landon Dickerson, Dallas Goedert, Nolan Smith Jr., Moro Ojomo and Tyler Steen are among the Eagles considered most likely to be moved. Hollywood Brown and several other veterans on expiring contracts have also been floated as candidates.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Woolen’s name has surfaced frequently in conversations with rival teams, while speculation around Dickerson has also intensified.

Even names such as Saquon Barkley and Zack Baun have entered the broader trade discussion, though moving either would represent a much more dramatic decision.

My take

Roseman shouldn’t be afraid to do it.

This season has gone from disappointing to definitively lost. Jalen Hurts is out for the year, Philadelphia’s roster is aging in several important spots, and holding onto veterans simply because this team expected to contend in August accomplishes nothing now.

That doesn’t mean trading everyone. Players who can be part of the next legitimate Eagles contender should stay. Everyone else should have a price.

Roseman built Philadelphia into a champion partly because he has never been afraid to make aggressive decisions.

His next one might be admitting this version of the Eagles is finished, and turning its pieces into the foundation of the next one.
