‘I Had To Spit’ Says Dak Prescott In Shocking Revelation Over Jalen Carter Incident
‘I Had To Spit’ Says Dak Prescott In Shocking Revelation

Following the Thursday night clash between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles, the entire football world is debating who’s to blame for the spitting incident. Almost half a day has passed, but nobody clearly knows who the main culprit is between Jalen Carter and Dak Prescott. Middle of that, Cowboys fans are more upset since their team faced the penalty.

To calm down the media uproar, officials came first and clarified it was an act of violation. Previously, the review footage also made it look like Carter broke the rules. Then, new slow-mo footage came out, showing the Cowboys quarterback had actually split first, adding to the confusion.

While everyone was left wondering what actually happened between them, Prescott broke his silence. Probably, he delivered the most detailed account yet of the bizarre incident that got Carter ejected before the first play.

The Real Reason Jalen Carter Spat on Dak Prescott

The detailed summary comes straight from NFL insider Albert Breer, who got the full story through former Cowboys coach Jason Garrett after he spoke directly with Prescott.

It began when Prescott was talking to rookie guard Tyler Booker before the Cowboys’ first offensive snap. That’s when the quarterback felt the need to clear his throat, setting up the ultimate chain reaction that is now on everyone’s lips.

“FWIW, Jason Garrett just explained Dak Prescott’s side of Spitgate … Dak told him that he was talking to Tyler Booker, had to spit. When he did, Jalen Carter was close by. Carter said ‘you spit at me?’ Prescott smiled and said, ‘why would I spit at you?’ And Carter spit back,” Breer summarized.

Prescott’s version clarifies he was trying to avoid spitting on his own teammate. He didn’t realize that Carter was positioned close enough to misinterpret the action as a hostile attack.

So, Carter confronted Prescott, believing it was intentional. However, he had to respond normally, without a smile. Carter took the smile as mockery, which was provoking enough to react, and that got him immediately ejected.

Jalen Carter Bows His Head for Spitting on Dak Prescott

Carter owned his mistake in a post-game apology. The Eagles’ defensive tackle didn’t try to justify his action, instead taking full responsibility for what happened on the field.

“It was a mistake that happened on my side. It won’t happen again. I feel bad for just my teammates and the fans out there. I’m doing it for them,” Carter said, acknowledging the impact his ejection had on the team’s defensive game plan.

“Just not being able to start the game or even finish the game—it f***ed me up. But we’re going to get better. It won’t happen again. I can make that promise,” Carter continued.

When the press asked him whether Prescott had spit at him first, he said, “I don’t try to do anything out of the ordinary. Anything that I feel like I have done something back for is provoked. If there’s something out there, y’all will see it.”

The third-year pro looked extremely sorry for letting down his teammates. It was obvious because he forced the defense to adjust before they’d even run their first play from scrimmage. Thankfully, luck was on their side; otherwise, his ejection could have almost cost the team.
