It's a good thing the NFL season is several months away because Lambeau Field had to be evacuated this week.
There was a fire reported at the home of the Green Bay Packers this Tuesday. According to FOX 11, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department and Ashwaubenon Public Safety were called to Lambeau Field at around 2:20 p.m. local time.
"Firefighters entered the stadium through the Invisalign Gate and found a small fire in the third locker room -- not the Packers' or the visitors' locker rooms. Officials say the sprinkler system had activated prior to first responders' arrival and the majority of the fire had been extinguished," the report states. "Remaining hot spots were addressed and the fire was deemed fully extinguished within 10 minutes of the initial dispatch call. Crews remained on scene to clear smoke from the stadium."
FOX 11's crew noticed that a burned plastic storage bin was removed from Lambeau Field on Tuesday afternoon.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department is investigating the cause of this fire. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported at this time.
With free agency a week away, Green Bay is expected to lose backup quarterback Malik Willis. He could command a salary upwards of $30 million, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
The Packers are also in jeopardy of losing linebacker Quay Walker, who had 128 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, seven QB hits, five pass break-ups and 2.5 sacks this past season.
It'll be interesting to see how the Packers revamp their roster for the 2026 season.
