Tennessee Vols legend and current Kansas City Chiefs offensive guard Trey Smith has won a couple of wing eating contests in recent years.
Smith won a wing eating contest in Knoxville in early 2020 during the Reading Gives You Wings book drive. The former Vol also won a wing eating contest at Kelce Jam (put on by Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce) in 2024.

Smith joined the New Rory and Mal podcast earlier this month and he revealed the most hot wings he's eaten in one sitting.
"I love hot wings," said Smith. "That's like my weakness, cheat food, whatever. It was easy (winning the wing eating contest at Kelce Jam)...the dude I was going against, I could tell he was struggling early on. So I didn't want to [overdo] it, so I think I only did like eight. He did like three. I could've done way more damage.
"The most wings I've ever eaten in one sitting, I'm embarrassed to say this, is 50. I put down 50 of them things in one sitting."
"Probably like 40 minutes," added Smith when asked how long it took to scarf down 50 wings.
It sounds like we need to find some better competition for Smith in these wing eating contests.
