TCU Horned Frogs transferee and former LSU Hailey Van Lith has openly expressed her shift in playstyle. Originally known as a strong scorer inside the court, she is now taking on the role of a playmaker, making her a more well-rounded player who can handle herself both in offense and in defense.
Following their recent victory against North Carolina, the TCU neophyte achieved the first double-double of her college basketball career, when she scored 18 points alongside 10 assists.
Van Lith reflected on her growth as a player, especially in the middle of a challenging transition following her transfer.
“I’ve really enjoyed this process,” she said. “I’m kind of transforming into a new player. Before, I was like Hailey the scorer, I was going to go and get buckets. And now I’m the playmaker.”
TCU coach Mark Campbell congratulated Van Lith not only on her double-double but on how much she has achieved so far and how she has grown as a player.
“You’ve never done that in your life. Good job, kiddo,” said Campbell in an emotional locker room interview. “The playmaker, she is being unleashed. Good job. You are just getting started, kiddo. You’ve had 19 assists in your last two games. Good job, I’m proud of you.”

Aside from Hailey Van Lith herself being one of the strongest score powerhouses of the Horned Frogs, they have Sedona Prince, who managed to reach another season-high score for a single game.
In their game with North Carolina, Prince got a whopping 31 points, 16 rebounds, two blocks, and three assists. Her previous season-high was 29 points, from their game against Houston.
“Sedona’s growth since we’ve had her has just been incredible,” said coach Campbell of Prince’s performance. “I’ll argue this is maybe her best game of her college career, against a really good team to go for 31 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, zero turnovers.”
Hailey Van Lith talked about the dynamic between her and Prince, and how easy they work together in court.
“It’s easy,” she said. “It’s all about making reads and Sedona has a great feel for the game. She’s easy for me to play with, she has great tempo. She knows when to roll, she knows when to pop, and she can hit shots. So it doesn’t take a whole lot of chemistry when you’re just two really good basketball players.”
