Indianapolis Colts' 2024 Opponents Now Official
© Mykal McEldowney/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Indianapolis Colts season ended when they fell in Week 18 to the Houston Texans 23-19 at Lucas Oil Stadium. After a long, up-and-down year filled with off-field issues, injuries, and contract workings, Indy finishes 9-8. By all standards, including the subjects mentioned above, Shane Steichen should be proud of what he accomplished in his inaugural head coaching showing.

That being said, it’s time to look ahead for the Colts and the opposition that awaits them. The 2024 opponents for Indy are official.

As it stands, below is who Indy will face home and away:

Home (Eight Games)

Away (Nine Games)

The Colts will have their typical six games reserved for their AFC South counterparts, but also multiple teams from each conference looking to make postseason pushes.

Based on the above list, six teams are in the upcoming 2023 playoffs (Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, and Detroit Lions). If this season is any indication of what next year could bring, Indy will have some tough competition in Year 2 for Steichen and Co.

As the playoffs begin for 14 teams, the Colts are one of the 18 that will begin planning for the immediate future. Indy has a lot to look forward to with second-year players like quarterback Anthony Richardson, wide receiver Josh Downs, and cornerback JuJu Brents, to name a few.

They’ll also look to extend star pass-catcher Michael Pittman Jr. to lock him into the offense with Richardson and build around vets like running back Jonathan Taylor, left guard Quenton Nelson, and center Ryan Kelly, among others.

We’ll see how Chris Ballard and his young squad approach the off-season ahead and who will stay or go for the 2024 campaign.
