Indianapolis Colts Connected to Big Trade Target Before Week 6
Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen reacts to a penalty call Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024, during a game against the Tennessee Titans at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Ahead of the 2025 NFL season, very few would have predicted that the Indianapolis Colts would look like arguably the best team in the league entering Week 6 action. However, that is exactly what the reality of this season has looked like.

So far this year, the Colts have gone 4-1. They should be 5-0, but the team had too many self-inflicted errors in their loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Despite that loss, Indianapolis is a team to watch as a potential buyer ahead of the 2025 NFL trade deadline. If Chris Ballard decides to get aggressive, there are quite a few players around the league who could make the Colts even better. That would be a route they would have to have interest in.

With that being said, one potential big-time trade target has been suggested for Indianapolis to consider.

Indianapolis Colts Connected to Big Trade Target Before Week 6

CBS Sports analyst Cody Benjamin has named the Colts as one of the top potential trade suitors for Miami Dolphins veteran pass rusher Bradley Chubb. He would be a nice addition for an Indianapolis defense that has shown signs of being a special unit.

Here’s what Benjamin had to write about Chubb being a potential trade chip for the Dolphins:

“Chubb is also approaching 30 with a significant injury history and an expensive price tag for 2026 and beyond. Dealing him would further strip an ailing Miami defense of its remaining talent, but at 1-4, the Dolphins might be careening toward another overhaul as it stands.”

Chubb has played well so far this season in Miami. He has recorded 14 total tackles, four sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in five games. Even though there is concern about his injury history, Chubb has been playing at a high level.

If the Colts decide that they need help in the pass rush department, Chubb would likely be an attainable option. They would not have to give up an arm and a leg to get him.

Expect to continue hearing rumors swirl around in Indianapolis. The Colts look to have a legitimate chance at winning a championship if they play their cards right. Chubb could help them towards that ultimate goal.
